Swamp chestnut oak reaches a mature size of 80 to 100 feet in height and 3 to 4 feet in diameter. It grows mostly on bottomland sites or on the terraces of streams and creek banks. It also prefers well-drained soil. This oak is used for lumber, cooperage, fenceposts and firewood. The acorns also provide an abundance of nutrition for wildlife during the fall.*Limited quantities available
